Let's learn some Japanese

I would like to introduce a few Japanese words that's gotten stuck into most of us students, especially those that stuck onto me. Why? I thought some people might be interested. *grin*

いやいやいや iya iya iya : is an equivalent to "no way" with a nuance, or something similar
違う違う chigau chigau: means "no no" as in "it's not like that"
dai: A short form for daigaku which means "university". usually used when referring to a university like "which dai do you go to?" takes the meaning of "which university do you go to?" dai is obviously shorter and easier to pronounce, so no one use anything else
始まった… hajimatta...: "it started" or "it started again", more to a sigh
あれええ? areee? : "ehhhh?"
だって datte : an informal "but..."
でも demo : a formal "but..."
いやああん iyaann : I guess you could consider this a form of "no way" in a cute way. it's originally iya but lengthened and tweaked with 'n's for cuteness
じゃん jan : close to "right?" like "it's cute right?" is replaced with kawaii jan, whereas kawaii is cute (as most people already know)
別に betsu ni : "nothing much" or "not really". example "what are you doing?" "betsu ni". another example "are you angry?" "betsu ni"
ふんんん funnn : "hmmmm" when not really interested
で? de? : "so?"
大丈夫? daijobu? : "everything ok?"
何してるの nani shiteruno : "whatcha doin"
どうした doushita : "what is it" or "what do you want", asked when something unexpected comes up
どうして doushite or なんで nande : "why?"
一応 ichiou : "just in case", can also be used for "somewhat" as in "have you finished your work?" "ichiou". In that case it's probably finished or probably not complete, or not done with much care. It's different from "yes", ichiou is used when the speaker is not completely sure of the perfectness of the situation.
やだ yada : "nooo", not in a hateful way
久しぶり hisashiburi : "long time no see"
どうもどうも doumo doumo : "thank you thank you" like when you just get praised or something
eki : Station (train, bus)
電車 densha : Train (electric-powered)
新幹 shinkan : Short form for shinkansen or bullet train
自転車 jitensha : Bicycle

Ok, out of ideas. If there's any you'd like me to add just leave a comment. *wink wink*
