Why am I prostrating and submitting myself to the very God who is the source of all disasters?
Because God has been kind to me all my life. And everyone else too. God never mistreat any of us.
Even that time when I was so young, I cut my thumb real deep that the scar still remains etched firmly, if it never happened I might never stop sucking on my thumb the way children do. If I never endured all the pain and loneliness in hostels 8 years ago, I might never survive here in Japan. If no one has ever hurt me before, then I'd never know what makes people sad.
Everything God does is for my own sake. If something was cruel, I wouldn't call it God. That is what God is. All-loving and extremely kind.
Who said this recent earthquake + tsunami is judgment (as in punishment)? Isn't judgment inflicted only when there is persistent cruelty on a land? Was there too much robbery or murder, or were the people too ignorant of their surroundings that violence and adultery was too much of a norm? Only God knows the answer. But for us to decide that it was judgment is too inappropriate. Death and disasters aren't necessarily judgment. Just as how volcanic eruptions bring forth fertile soil, this tsunami shall also bring something good with it. Now we still can't see what it will be, but one day we will find out. For now, help those who are in need. Give donations or volunteer, or at the least follow what the media is suggesting such as using less electricity. Pray and work, pray and work. The two is a set, neither goes alone.

How could God be the source of all disasters?
Well if Mr. A is the source of all disasters, how is God supposed to eradicate them? God erases one, then Mr. A just create a new disaster. But still God never knows how disasters work? How interesting. But it doesn't work that way. God created all disasters, and all of them have their own functions. Can you seriously think that God enjoys tormenting and killing people for nothing? Impossible. Something without love isn't God, in fact God's love surpasses that of a mother to a child.
To accuse God of being cruel just because you lost something in this world is worse than hating your mother for taking you to the dentist. Sure sadness and loneliness will come, but on the other hand those who died might be happily dwelling in heaven by now. Let's think positive. We never knew what they were when they were alive, only God knows. Trust in God.
And those who are patient are promised to dwell in heaven.
